Below are the general steps we will take on your exterior house painting project. Your situation may vary depending upon your needs as outlined in your Proposal.
The painting of the exterior of a building is one of the most important means of protecting your most important asset.
It is therefore important to have the job done well – and the most important thing in an exterior repaint is the preparation. If a paint system fails, 90% of the time it is because it was not prepared properly in the first place. Our focus at Clark Decorating is to do the preparation properly and then the job will last. Many people ask us about whether the house should be sprayed or brushed. Quite simply, if the house is not prepared properly, the paint will come off either way. If it is prepared properly, it will stay on.
Wash.
As per your proposal, areas are either power washed or hand washed to remove dirt and mildew.
Surface Preparation.
Based on your exterior painting proposal, all loose paint is scraped and all glossy areas are scuff sanded. All gaps are filled to prevent water intrusion.
Paint.
Repaired areas are primed and premium quality paint is applied to a uniform finish.
Clean.
Clean up is done at the completion of our work. Paint chips are removed to the best of our ability and all our materials are packed up and stored neatly.
